About the Author

Having been a follower of Jesus since the ripe old age of 3 years, I have never really known a time when God was not a part of my life – an amazing heritage and testimony to God’s faithful love over the years!

My family moved from England to New Zealand when I was 16, and it is there, a few years later in 1990, that I met and married my husband Andrew. We have 2 beautiful daughters, one awesome son-in-law and 2 precious and treasured grandchildren. I can truly say my heart is full!

I’ve always loved writing! And through our early years of marriage, I developed a gift of song writing, and often songs would simply come to me – even when I was making beds! This developed over about 5 years until 2002 when, along with our young daughters, we headed out to Central Asia with Interserve – an interdenominational Christian NGO. There we lived and served for 8 1/2 years, returning to NZ at the end of 2010, when our older daughter was about to start university.

Through this time, totally unexpectedly, my writing came to a complete halt! Probably my creative juices were swallowed up in Russian grammar – but whatever the reason, I didn’t really pick up writing again until now, 2020! And I am so excited to feel the creativity starting to flow again!

Coping with and managing some chronic pain issues over the last few year has taught me the value of slowing down, taking time to listen and appreciate the still moments, and see more clearly where God is in the midst of life. And learn to enjoy the fact that we don’t need to be so busy!

We are blessed to live just 300m from a beautiful beach where I walk as much as possible, often using it as prayer time for others, sometimes just enjoying the presence of God as He walks with me. This, and my garden, is where I have redeveloped my love of writing and where the creative juices have been released once more!

I now work as a Christian Spiritual Director / companion, with the awesome privilege of walking with others in their journey with God, and encouraging them to see where He is in the mist of life, and to stop and take time to simply sit and enjoy His presence and listen to His what is on His heart.

And so, as I enjoy my cup of tea time in my garden with God, I pray that you can also, not just enjoy my writing, but find in it the nuggets of gold that come as a gift of life from God’s heart to yours.
